An Unfailingly Positive Presence
Bryony Reynolds is an actor specialising in Shakespeare and the classics. She has recently performed the title role of Macbeth in Bard City’s Macbeth directed by Owen Horsley. Theatre highlights include the award winning Macbeth the Musical (White Bear Theatre), Twelfth Night (Mission Theatre, Bath), Theatre Without Sight or Sound (Old Red Lion), Tess of the d'Urbervilles (Bread & Roses Theatre), Twelfth Night (RSC Dell Theatre), Macbeth (YSC National tour), and Shakespeare in Hell (Exeter Northcott Theatre). She has also performed as a puppeteer for the Sailing Olympics Opening Ceremony (2012), has worked as a physical theatre performer and facilitator for various productions, and has even taken an audience on a 5 kilometre run through several forests in an immersive show Company of Wolves!
Growing up overseas in Asia and Australasia, Bryony’s upbringing has given her a deep cultural awareness that has fuelled her drive for the protection of both gender and racial equality.
“I am particularly drawn to stage work, in its ability to break down barriers in society and remind people of what’s important. Though there is still a long way to go in terms of equal representation within the arts, I have been greatly encouraged by the awareness and changes that have been made in recent years to address this. Each step, no matter how small, is now at least a step in the right direction.”
Reynolds’ work spans across stage and screen, comedy and tragedy, classical and contemporary, indoor and outdoor theatre, touring and regional performances and everything in-between. Her performances across all genres have been given outstanding reviews, and companies, directors, and actors alike have frequently requested to work with her again.
Alongside her stage work, Reynolds is also trained and experienced in archery, singing, puppetry, physical theatre, workshop facilitator, and is a qualified Arts Award Advisor.
“My confidence in my craft, along with my joy in helping others, has lead me to become a drama and physical theatre facilitator for both children and adults with learning disabilities. I love these opportunities to draw out the best in those I work with, to deliver powerful and rewarding ensemble performances.”
